Direct, benefit-first, and completely free of sales language. Dutch buyers are among the most sceptical in Europe — the moment a listing sounds like marketing, trust drops. We strip out every hollow phrase and replace it with something specific.
Technically complete, formally addressed, and always substantiated. German buyers cross-reference claims and distrust anything vague. We write in Sie throughout, include every relevant specification, and replace words like 'durable' with actual numbers.
Confident but restrained. UK buyers are particularly allergic to American-style hyperbole. The winning tone is knowledgeable and specific. British spelling throughout: -our, -ise, -re.
More direct and outcome-focused than UK English. US buyers scan fast and want the benefit in the first five words. ALL CAPS bullet openers are expected, not optional. Imperial measurements, Oxford comma, US spelling.
Precise and well-constructed. French buyers notice grammatical errors immediately and associate them with low-quality products. We use vous throughout and apply French typographic rules throughout.
Warm, genuine, and quality-conscious. Italian buyers care about how a product fits into their life — not just what it does. Copy needs to balance practical information with lifestyle context. Cold, purely technical listings underperform.
Warm and direct, with practical clarity at the centre. Spanish buyers want to understand immediately what they're getting and why it matters. We write Spain Spanish specifically and use tú throughout — the natural register on amazon.es.

It's not about grammar. A translation can be grammatically perfect and still feel wrong — the wrong register, the wrong tone, benefit framing that works in English but falls flat in German.

bol.com is the dominant marketplace in the Netherlands and Belgium, with over 12 million active customers. It is not a smaller version of Amazon. It has a different account structure, different ranking signals, different listing requirements, and a buyer base that shops differently.
Most agencies that offer bol.com services treat it as a translation job — take the Amazon NL listing and upload it. This is the wrong approach, and Dutch buyers can tell. A listing built for bol.com from the ground up performs differently.
bol.com uses product attributes (kenmerken) instead of bullet points. The way information is structured, labelled, and submitted is completely different from Amazon. Content that works as bullets on Amazon needs to be restructured entirely for bol.com.
bol.com's search algorithm weights seller score, delivery performance, and return rate heavily alongside keyword relevance. A listing that ranks well on Amazon NL won't automatically rank on bol.com.
bol.com has built a reputation for fast delivery, easy returns, and transparent seller ratings. Buyers on bol.com expect a higher baseline of service and trust signals than on Amazon NL.
Belgium is bilingual — Dutch-speaking Flanders and French-speaking Wallonia both shop on bol.com/be. A brand selling in Belgium needs two versions: Dutch copy for Flemish buyers, French copy for Walloon buyers.
